Brussels museums have plenty to offer this summer. Whether you’re seeking refreshment, shelter from a storm, you’re a lover of modernism, or more abstract art, or you can’t get enough of Folon. Boredom is definitely not on the agenda in Brussels museums!

1. GIANTS at the Institute of Natural Sciences > 25/08
Feel like a miniature version of yourself at this exhibition about giant (extinct) animals. A big opportunity to feel small!

2. Oilopa at Wiels > 29/09
Discover Jana Euler’s fantasied world at Wiels. Not a reference to black gold, but oil as a paint and Europe.
3. Passage. Textiles & Rituals at the Jewish Museum of Belgium > 01/09
How are religion and secular life threaded together? Among other things, through textiles. At Passages you explore the concept of transformation… something that also awaits the Jewish Museum itself.
Tip: this is your last chance to visit the Jewish Museum before the renovation works.
4. NaturArchy - Towards a natural contract at iMAL > 29/09
NaturArchy explores ecological issues and the relationship between humans and non-humans. The artworks allocate their own personalities to some wonders of nature. As always at iMAL, a technology art center, this expo is based on research and co-creation.
5. Regenerative Futures at Fondation Thalie > 26/10
Fondation Thalie also focuses on the habitability of the earth for future generations. How do artists and designers reinvent themselves to address the current ecological challenges we are facing? Stroll through the ecoscenography of Regenerative Future, made of natural and bio-based materials.
6. Multitude at MIMA > 05/01
Vhils, alias of artist Alexandre Farto, takes you through his solo exhibition Multitude into the universe of the city: along wall engravings, billboards, cityscapes, videos, and installations from different periods.
7. Ca$h at Art et Marges Museum > 29/09
How do ‘outsider’ artists and art brut creators deal with money? Even for them, money is present: as a medium, subject, or even material for their art. Get your money’s worth at this exhibition ‘Ca$h’.
8. Olivetti – Folon at Design Museum Brussels > 15/09
Did you know that Jean-Michel Folon worked for the company Olivetti, known for its typewriters, for years? Discover his posters and advertising products, among other things at the Design Museum.

9. Josef & Anni Albers at Fondation Boghossian - Villa Empain > 08/09
For the first time in Belgium, there is an exhibition dedicated to the couple Josef and Anni Albers, pioneers of modernism. Their works are perfectly showcased in the stunning setting of Villa Empain.

10. Abstract Writings, Abstract Thoughts at Wittockiana > 15/09
Jean Boghossian, one of the faces behind Fondation Boghossian, is also an artist. Wittockiana, the museum of book arts and bookbinding, is currently exhibiting his collection of notebooks and musings on art.
