Baan by Leonor Teles

  • Events

Through our New Voices programme, promising emerging filmmakers reveal their latest works, shaping the future of cinema. Leonor Teles’ debut feature is a subtle exploration of human emotions and their complexities.
Let yourself be swept away on the timeless journey that Baan offers: When Home stops feeling like one, wandering becomes routine. Time, space and emotions implode, blurring Lisbon with Bangkok. Past, present or perhaps future intertwine in a story that begins when L meets K.
Leonor Teles is a Portuguese filmmaker whose debut short, Batrachian’s Ballad (2016), won the Golden Bear at Berlinale. Her first documentary feature, Ashore (2018), won the SCAM Award at Cinéma du Réel. Her first fiction feature Baan (2023) premiered in Locarno Film Festival.
