Possibly the name Carlos Ferreira already rings a bell. The silky smooth timbre and delicate playing of the principal clarinettist of the Orchestre National de France contribute to the rich sound of this early bird. But the young Portuguese musician is now flying further and kicked off his solo career with a first album, in a duo with his compatriot Pedro Emanuel Pereira on piano. XX-XXI covers just over a century of music for clarinet and piano, with a colourful programme that brings together different polarities: beauty and grotesqueness, joy and sorrow, life and death. Be captivated by the incredible symbiosis between two young musicians whose future seems promising.
Rising Stars is a project of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). Carlos Ferreira has been nominated by Casa da Música Porto, Fundação Gulbenkian Lisbon and The Sage Gateshead.
