Double bass player Yannick Peeters has brought together a real dream team in the form of GingerBlackGinger. With Tom Rainey on the drums, Frederik Leroux on the guitar and Frans van Isacker on the saxophone and clarinet, they released an absolute monster of a debut album with W.E.R.F. Records in 2024. Together, they go in search of a sound as radical as it is authentic. It results in a combination of extensive soundscapes, short bursts of energy and enchanting grooves. With carte blanche from Bozar, Peeters invited the American saxophonist Tim Berne to join the quartet. His collaborations with Bill Frisell and Paul Motian in the 80s are record collection essentials, and his later projects are benchmarks of adventurous avant-garde jazz. So we’re curious what will happen when he joins forces with GingerBlackGinger!
Bozar brings together a Belgian talent and an international artist under the title Belgium & the World.
