This summer, the Design Museum Brussels once again invites you to its Cine Design!

This edition echoes our temporary exhibition Olivetti · Folon. On one hand, the documentary Folon offers an intimate and sensitive portrait of Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon, author of the famous bonhomme”. On the other, Prospettiva Olivetti and Paradigma Olivetti explore the singularity and creativity of the Italian design company, famous in particular for its typewriters, calculators and computers.

On 9 July, the Design Museum Brussels invites you to the screening of Davide Maffei’s documentary Prospettiva Olivetti.

Adriano Olivetti considered architecture, the space created by the human being, as an invaluable tool for the creation of communities. Ivrea and the Canavese area were the principal fields of action for an industrial policy characterised by a strong social responsibility. Following Adriano’s death, the cultural and political project of the Community was dissolved, but his ethical heritage was not forgotten. Indeed, it evolved to face the impacts of a time marked by rapid international expansion of the firm. Prospettiva Olivetti takes us on a journey across the Olivetti buildings, both in Italy and abroad, from the 1960s to the 1980s. The stories of the protagonists and the archives recreate the imaginary of a dual perspective: that of the past, in which the Ivrea-based company was able to develop beyond national borders, and that of the future, which unites these architectures and their becoming.
