Jane Graverol (Ixelles 1905 - Fontainebleau 1984) met René Magritte in 1949. She met him several times in his studio in the rue Esseghem. Along with Rachel Baes, Graverol is an underrated painter of Belgian surrealism.

His world has much in common with that of Magritte, particularly in its confrontation of the human with nature. For Graverol, surrealism is about the elusive. A quality that is well expressed in the spellbinding works of this fascinating painter.
