Fleeing domestic violence, Estelle leaves Rome with her children to seek refuge at her mother’s house, just before a family reunion. Her siblings, including Marc, who moved to the US as a child after a tragic event, gather for the first time in years. Together, they confront buried traumas, secrets, and unresolved grudges, navigating the push-and-pull of familial ties. Amidst the tension, children and friends bring moments of joy, music, and love, softening the weight of the past with laughter and lightness.
Isild Le Besco began acting at just eight years old and, by her early 20s, had become a prominent figure in French auteur cinema, earning two César nominations and a Best Actress award at Venice. Her directorial debut, Demi-Tarif (2004), showcased her unique approach to filmmaking. By the time she released her third film, Bas-Fonds, she was hailed as the “wild child of French cinema,” as described by The New York Times.
