Hailed as an “eloquent solo trumpeter” by The Times, Britain’s Matilda Lloyd offers a thrilling programme. The ECHO Rising Star nominated by the Barbican Centre London and Konserthuset Stockholm brings you some of the most important works for trumpet and piano: Arthur Honegger’s heroic Intrada and the impressionistic Légende by Georges Enescu. The British pianist Simon Lepper performs a selection of works for solo piano by Claude Debussy as well as the sublime impressionistic fresco Phoebe by his contemporary Mel Bonis. Rounding out the programme are arrangements of French songs by Pauline Viardot - the sister of La Malibran - and New York, a new work by the young British composer Dani Howard (°1993), presented in its Belgian premiere!
Rising Stars is a project of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). Matilda Lloyd has been nominated by The Barbican Centre London and Konserthuset Stockholm.
