The Raising Voices Festival concludes with a stimulating, musical debate night

With 184 different nationalities and over 100 languages spoken, Brussels is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. What better place than the Belgian and European capital to explore the major themes of the opera The Time of Our Singing!

In what ways does diversity influence the artistic landscape of Brussels? Can music serve as the ideal intercultural language to bring diverse communities together? What role does music play in shaping our individual and collective identities? How can we create a better playing field for future generations?

To answer these questions, we will welcome DJ Rokia Bamba, Claron McFadden (soprano), Fabrizio Cassol (composer and saxophonist), Laïla Amezian (singer/MetX), and Leen De Spiegelaere (Zinneke), Hélène Sechehaye (ULB), Marco Martiniello (ULiège) to our magnificent Salle Fiocco for a panel debate followed by an open discussion.

The evening, organized in collaboration with Brussels Academy, will conclude with a performance by DJ Rokia Bamba and Claron McFadden.
