MOZART: The Music, The Freemason
Mozart was a dedicated Freemason who used his extraordinary talent to compose music that resonated deeply with the society he held so dear.
Existing literature on Mozart’s Masonic connection is often dated. In this new book, David Vergauwen, director of Cedom, revisits Mozart’s Masonic involvement within the context of his time. Freemasonry, like any institution, evolves when history demands it — and this transformation is vividly echoed in Mozart’s compositions.
These ideas come to life with the Terra Nova Collective, under the direction of Vlad Weverbergh, performing Mozart’s Masonic music on historical instruments in the Grand Temple on Rue de Laeken. The celebrated tenor Christoph Prégardien will join for this unique event.
It promises to be an unforgettable day!
