Concert Croissant #7

For centuries, composers have been inspired by musicians with phenomenal abilities, resulting in technical or aesthetic breakthroughs. Cathy Berberian became the Muse of Darmstadt’ and inspired great names of the twentieth century, including her husband Luciano Berio. Berberian not only significantly expanded the range of vocal techniques in classical music, but also contributed to the emancipation of the voice in the experimental genre. In the programme O Cathy’, Nemø pays tribute to the musician by combining her compositions with works written for her, in which the role of performer is equal to that of composer. Interpretation, arrangement and composition push the boundaries in this new production by this exciting collective.
