For over 3,000 years, the Persian new year celebration Nowruz, meaning “the new day,” has marked the first day of spring. It is a moment when millions of people worldwide, from the Balkans to Central Asia, from the Middle East to the shores of the Black Sea, unite in a common celebration of the awakening of nature, dancing and making music together. Klarafestival and Bozar celebrate this annual highlight with a concert in which four ensembles and soloists each give a unique voice to their local culture, from Iran to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
