Concert Croissant #3

The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel is an institution recognised worldwide for the quality of its teaching and the warm welcome it provides. Young musicians from all corners of the world come here to complete their training with teachers of the highest musical calibre. Twice a season, the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel presents a recital at Bozar with young soloists on the eve of an international career.
For this recital, we welcome Yoonsoo Yeo (°2001), a young cellist with already an impressive career. Born in New Zealand, he grew up in South Korea and pursued his musical training at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, before winning several international competitions. With the complicity of Katsura Mizumoto, pianist accompanist at the Chapel, he presents two arrangements of works by Haydn and Stravinsky, by one of the great cellists of the first half of the 20th century, Gregor Piatigorsky, as well as Britten’s Cello Sonata, dedicated to none other than Mstislav Rostropovitch.
