During the renovation of Studio and Salle M, Bozar collaborates with the temporary cultural hub Reset to present a sequence of 10 concerts of electronic music. These sensory spectacles unfold within the intimate ambiance of Reset’s Auditorium, reminiscent of 70s Scandinavian style architecture. Each time, an international artist shares the bill with a local must see.
Brussels-based Christina Vantzou is not a new kid on the block. After six solo albums and at least as many collaborations, Vantzou knows better than anyone how to create a vast and at times disturbing soundscape with few resources. A processed piano, a winter bath of synths and unrecognisable voiceovers usually do the trick. But add flautist John Also Bennet (JAB) and the impossible becomes possible. Listen in advance to the two albums their symbiosis has already spawned, 2018’s Thought Of A Dot As It Travels A Surface - what a title! - and the more recent Klima.
Perila’s passage at Bozar x Reset is all about her latest album Intrinsic Rhythm. The visual artist, DJ, performer and poet sees her music as a healing and transformative agent, and an invitation to open other layers of engagement with reality. Her soundscapes consist of field recordings, detailed breezes of sound, and, on her latest album in particular, subtle rhythms from the everyday. Perila’s shows are deep listening experiences that you cannot simply experience in your living room. So turning up is the message!
