Fashion & Lace Museum

Let yourself be seduced by fashion and lace in all their diversity! Spread over three floors, long-term, short-term and permanent exhibitions alternate here. Through long-term exhibitions, the Fashion & Lace Museum presents its own collections, enriched with prestigious loans. The dialogue between history and contemporary fashion remains key. The nature and themes of these exhibitions are very diverse. Belgian and especially Brussels fashion always take centre stage. Each exhibition highlights a specific theme, a particular designer or an evolution. The design, production and social use of clothes are always discussed. The museum is also the only one in Belgium to focus on Brussels lace. The permanent collection in the Lace Room highlights exceptional and world-famous lace pieces. They are beautifully exposed in their historical context in this specially designed room. Finally, the Fashion Room presents an overview of recent acquisitions. Small exhibitions with a clear focus allow you to discover some twenty recent acquisitions. Every three to four months, the theme and the collection of this mini-exhibition change. The museum, located in the heart of Brussels, preserves about 15,000 pieces of lace, clothing and accessories from the 16^th century to the present. The collections remain the most important in the world in terms of Brussels fashion designers and clothing. The museum places them in a Belgian and international context with a well thought-out scenography.
