Together tackles a simple title with a complex question: how to be together? Through a choreographic meditation, dancer Oisín Monaghan and artist-choreographer Maria Hassabi explore how two bodies affect and respond to each other, pushing the boundaries of perception.
Maria Hassabi’s practice since the early 2000s focuses on the relationship between live body, to the still image, and to the sculptural object. Performance, installation, sculpture, photography, video: Hassabi uses various media to highlight formal complexity, often placing the performing body at the center. Through meticulous crafting her material, her works reveal the physical effects of labor, anchoring awareness to the present moment. Her works have been featured in many exhibitions and festivals across the world.
