Pop balkanique éblouissante

Singer, songwriter and music producer Marina Satti was born in Athens, Greece to a Sudanese father and Cretan mother.

Marina graduated in classical piano, advanced music theory and classical singing, before re- ceiving a scholarship from the internationally acclaimed Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, Marina studied orchestration, production and jazz, while working with renowned artists, such as Danilo Perez and Jamie Haddad, among others. Having represented Greece in the European Jazz Orchestra (EBU) with works by Peter Herbolzheimer, she performed at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. with World Jazz Nonet and participated in the a cappella vocal group The Singing Tribe” in collaboration with Bobby McFerrin. Marina Satti has developed a unique sound that combines the different musical traditions she grew up with, such as Greek, Arabic and Balkan with urban elements and rhythm.

Marina Satti can be at the same time pop, urban and mainstream, as she can, effortlessly, be lyrical, folk and experimental, following a unique path by blending different music genres.

Following the release of her debut album YENNA (2022), Marina released TUCUTUM (2023): a Greek song which went viral, with humorous references to the Balkan trap trends. She was later signed by Golden Records and Minos EMI, a Universal Music Company.

In her Eurovision entry ZARI (which means Dice”), Marina fuses traditional Greek and Balkan music (zournas) with urban vibes and pop / rap influences, choosing to sing in her native Greek language, while also using some phrases in English.

ZARI aims to showcase the connection of Greece’s rich tradition, history and popular culture with the country’s modern, new” generation; a fresh and contemporary music proposal that pushes the music boundaries and unapologetically shows what Greece has to offer.
