Meet the Writer: Caroline Lamarche

  • Others

From book to book, over the last thirty years, Caroline Lamarche has woven a body of work in which the intimate and the universal come together in an intensity that never forgets the music of language. Her recent book Cher instant je te vois (Verdier, 2024) is a striking example of this, the story of a magnificent friendship brought to a climax by the proximity of death and the power of the moment in an increasingly fragile world.
Her highly personal writings on art are a little-known aspect of his work. On 14 May, to coincide with the major exhibition at Bozar, she will share her fascination for the singular and powerful world of Berlinde De Bruyckere, which inspired her to write, among other texts accompanying the artist’s universe, the story Dans la maison un grand cerf (Gallimard, 2017).
A major voice in our literature will be paying tribute to a key figure of our artistic scene.
