Capsule exhibit
The Museum holds prints highlighting the various aspects of the city. For several years now, our team has been engaged in a massive project to inventory them. Our collections currently comprise 1500 prints, the oldest one dating back to the 16th century, and the most recent one barely a few years old.
A print is an image printed using a matrix with the image in relief.
Prints offer a valuable window onto their era. They are generally documentary in nature, but may also be artistic, allegorical, religious or satirical. Thanks to their precision and attention to detail, these works offer valuable historical information while also attesting to the technical and artistic skill of their creators.
The Museum invites you to discover a selection of this varied and fascinating graphical heritage.
