As part of our Close-up dedicated to Bêka & Lemoine and our monthly Family Film Club, we invite you to discover Spatial Disobedience: Children in Space. This program features a selection of four short films curated by Bêka & Lemoine, celebrating the boundless energy and curiosity with which children explore space.
Children are often the overlooked inhabitants of our cities. For them, everything can feel dangerous, overwhelming, or forbidden, as their surroundings are designed by and for adults. They are too small to open doors, ring intercoms, or stop traffic to cross the street, forcing them to navigate a world that is disproportionately large. Constantly facing limitations and regulations, children learn to channel their vibrant energy into socially accepted behaviors. However, it is through the physical exploration of their environment that children truly discover who they are and the world around them.
This program, featuring a selection of cinematic gems that adopt the scale and perspective of children, is dedicated to the explorative and inventive spirit of childhood.
