A selection of VR films exploring identity, mythology, and resilience made by female VR directors from across the continent.

Join us for the April edition of VR Film Screening, a monthly event dedicated to immersive storytelling. This series offers a fresh perspective on VR cinema and features a curated selection of VR films that range from live-action to animation.
Step into Le Lac, a poetic and immersive documentary that tells the story of Lake Chad, whose waters are disappearing under the pressures of climate change. This visually rich VR piece by Nyasha Kadandara brings to life the lake’s vulnerability and the resilience of those who depend on her.
Experience The Other Dakar, a VR work by Selly Raby Kane that reimagines Dakar through mythology and design. This film depicts the city’s invisible magic by connecting its urban spaces with their cultural roots. It’s a manifesto celebrating Dakar’s identity and the creative forces shaping its future through combining art, technology, and community.
Finally, discover Nairobi Berries, a surreal and lyrical experience by Kenyan artist Ng’endo Mukii. Through dreamlike visuals and poetic narration, Mukii explores perception, relationships, and unspoken truths. This dream-like VR captures the city’s essence in a way that is both intimate and universal.
VR Film Screening at Bozar is designed to be welcoming and accessible. Attentive guides will be on hand to ensure you have a seamless experience.
