Zé Ibarra is set to release his new album, AFIM, in March 2025. In many ways, this is truly Zé’s first solo album — after finding success with two highly distinctive bands in Brazil (Dônica and Bala Desejo), the time has come for Zé to present his own identity through his solo work.
Marking a departure from his previous project, which featured only voice and guitar, AFIM introduces Zé alongside a band of exceptionally skilled musicians, allowing him to explore and showcase new dimensions of his artistry. The album features Ibarra’s original compositions as well as works by leading voices in Brazil’s contemporary music scene, including Sophia Chablau, Maria Beraldo, and Italo França. Long-time collaborator Dora Morelenbaum also contributes, highlighting a continued creative partnership.
