DEAFKIDS brings its unique sound and aesthetic built over a 13-year career on the roads and stages of the world, incorporating elements of electronic and experimental avant-garde music, Dub techniques, noise, psychedelia and the hypnotic polyrrhythms and pulsations of native Brazilian and Latin music to the energetic discharge of punk’s expanding frontiers.

Their fifth studio album was recently released on LP in Brazil byNada Nada Discos and in Europe by Rapid Eye Records and Lovers & Lollypops. The trio brings together a remixed/remastered version of the three EPs previously only released digitally during the pandemic, with the addition of two songs made exclusively for the much-celebrated game Cyberpunk 2077” soundtrack. Dystopia reigns in the game, in our world and in the music that manages to capture the surreal feeling of this paradox of survival in contemporary times.

On this album, the trio once again pushes the limits of their own sound, capturing an abstract tone with a focus on rhythms and electronic manipulations with the use of congas, djembes, bongos, tablas, flutes, cuíca, electronic drums, samplers and synthesizers - exploring an almost absurd language in its post-production techniques. It is, as always with DEAFKIDS, a deep journey!

TEST

From the deathgrindcore band initially known for playing outside major heavy metal concerts, fueled by an old-school VW Kombi van-powered generator, Test has come a long way since 2011, when the band began performing on the streets of São Paulo, Brazil. As one of the most active bands from Brazil, TEST, with its experimental and endlessly creative artsy flair, mixes elements of extreme metal, such as blast beats, with playful sonic elements in both songwriting and live performances, thereby reviving the punk spirit of do-it-yourself ethos and redefining the concept of occupying public spaces. This approach has made TEST a reference point both in Brazil and abroad.

TEST has graced stages — this time within the confines of venues — as headlining or opening acts for acclaimed international artists such as King Diamond, Napalm Death, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Exodus, Brujeria, Mayhem, Mortician, and Dillinger Escape Plan, among others. Noteworthy Test enthusiasts include Shane Embury, bassist for Napalm Death, and the brothers Max and Iggor Cavalera from the legendary Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura. Iggor, incidentally, has listed Test’s drummer among the top 10 drummers of all time.

In addition to sharing the spotlight with well-known heavy metal artists, Test has participated in two of the major extreme music festivals worldwide: Obscene Extreme,” held in the Czech Republic and Mexico, and Maryland Deathfest,” hosted in the US.
